Love knows no time limits. Sometimes it only takes a few months to meet fall, in love, and get married.
For Melissa and Tushar this was exactly the case. They met and feel deeply in love with one another in a short amount of time. When you spend time with them you see that their love is deep and lasting. Their love is intoxicating and contagious. I love being with them and see what newlywedness is all about. Just a little over a year ago Philip and I were there, freshly married and full of excitement... We loved being able to document their love and all things that are new to them.
Melissa and Tushar didn't have the traditional wedding and reception. Instead they decided one day that they wanted to spend their lives together forever and went that day to the courthouse. I love the spontaneity of marriage and how they let love dictate their next step in life.
Since they only told a few people about their elopement they didn't have anyone to document their joining together as one. So Melissa contacted me about doing a day After Session to document their new journey in life. Melissa wanted something completely different and very nontraditional and I was all for it!
I photographed Melissa and her sister Jennifer a year ago and knew just how easy it is to work with her. I was so excited when she gave us complete artistic control with their session. So we decided to shake things up a bit and have several different feels to their session. I really wanted to show the joys of newlywed life in a different way then most think. We then embraced Melissa's inner model and took things very high fashion and reached into Tushar's Indian culture and then brought it back down again to soft airy images. I absolutely loved how their images turned out and we had a fabulous time shooting with them! Last night they saw their images for the first time and Melissa squealed with excitement as the slide show played. It was so joyous for me to see her loving her images so much!
And without further ado, Melissa and Tushar.
